(Dallas) Steven Stamkos and Yanni Gourde tipped the scales in the second period and the Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Dallas Stars 2-1 on Tuesday.

Tampa Bay deserved a fifth straight win.

Stamkos and Gourde scored at 8:08 and 12:44, respectively.

Stamkos' goal was scored on the power play.

Andrei Vasilevskiy made 16 saves en route to a 12 ^th  straight win, a team record.

The Lightning is 4-0-0 against Dallas this season.

Leading the league with 50 points, the Lightning is 18-0-0 ahead after two periods.

Roope Hintz scored and Anton Khudobin blocked 24 shots for the Stars, who have won just once in five games.
