(Sacramento) California has given the green light to the return of fans in the stadiums in baseball, as from 1 st of April.
Announced Friday, the new measures also affect places like Disneyland and theaters.
San Diego Padres, the Los Angeles Angels and Oakland A's will start the season at home the 1 st of April.
California divides its counties into four color codes, based on the COVID-19 situation.
The limit on the number of spectators depends on these classifications.
"We are delighted and thank the Governor (Gavin Newsom) and his team for their collaborative efforts," Padres CEO Erik Greupner said in a statement.
“We are carefully preparing to make Petco Park one of the safest places in San Diego. "
The Padres plan to inform their season ticket holders about details regarding the return of fans to the stadium soon.
The Los Angeles Dodgers plan to announce protocols regarding the return of fans within days.
The club also hopes to be able to increase the reception capacity over the season.
The Dodgers will begin the home portion of their schedule on April 9, as will the San Francisco Giants.
