(Frisco) MLS and goalie Jesse Gonzalez mutually terminated his contract with FC Dallas, two months after he was charged with domestic violence.

The decision announced Thursday ends Gonzalez's 10-year streak with FC Dallas. He got along with the team's academy when he was 15.

MLS suspended Gonzalez in June after a report of suspected incidents of domestic violence was filed with police in Frisco, a suburb of Dallas.

When Gonzalez was suspended, MLS said he voluntarily entered the league's substance abuse and behavioral health assistance program.

The 25-year-old Gonzalez had been FC Dallas' starting goalie since 2017 and made 84 career-high last year. FC Dallas lost 4-3 to the Seattle Sounders in the first playoff round.

Gonzalez, who grew up in Dallas, made his 100 ^th career start in the match opening of this season. He was in net in the second game of his team before the COVID-19 pandemic put the circuit on hold.
