(Washington) "We do not care": Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James responded Wednesday to recent criticism of Donald Trump, who had deemed "disrespectful" the fact that NBA players put on one knee for the national anthem to denounce racial discrimination.
The US president recently told Fow News that he turns off the television when he sees players kneeling during the anthem.
“I think it's a shame. We work with them (NBA), we worked really hard to get them back, I did everything for, and then I see everyone kneel down during the anthem. It is not acceptable to me. When I see them doing that, I turn off the TV, I don't care anymore, ”Trump said.
“I don't think the basketball community is sad to lose such a viewer. The NBA will continue without him looking at us. I think I can speak for all those who love basketball: who cares? ”Whether or not he is watching his television during games, replied James, after the loss to the Lakers against at the Oklahoma Thunder (86-105).
“Our sport is in a great position and we have fans all over the world,” said the Lakers point guard. "Our fans love and respect what we try to bring to the game, (and know) what's right and what's wrong."
